Slimes

Their color doesn’t belong in this world. Not like blood, sea, or forest—brighter. Impossibly vibrant. They stain the air around them, entrancing eyes like a sirens call. Children run toward it. Animals circle and sniff. Grown men forget themselves, only for a moment. That’s all it needs, a single step closer. What remains needs no casket. Just a bucket.

Bile Block

Forever entombed within its translucent walls float fragments of the damned. The unware who heard nothing and the foolish too proud to flee. At the nearness of warm flesh, it releases a pool of digestive bile that melts boot and bone in place. Screaming desperation follows as panic sets off frenzied attacks—simply to spawn another.

Mycomen

Hunters, foragers, and herbalists alike are drawn to it. Blades in hand and coin on their minds. But as they draw near, the earth trembles, and a shrieking horror erupts. Fear consumes them, sending them fleeing as fortune turns to fiend. But the Mycomen know the forests well, and any hope of escape soon withers. Spores ride the wind, unseen and insidious, slipping past lips and into lungs. They stumble, coughing, eyes wide as growths burst from their skin. The final breath is one of surrender—their identity unraveling, replaced by the maddening wail of the colony.
